"MilleaLab and the Directorate General of GTK at the Ministry of Education and Culture are working together to improve digital literacy for educators across Indonesia. The Digital Literacy Improvement Program in the Central Region covers four provinces that rank in the lowest four in the context of national digital literacy and numeracy."
To improve digital literacy competencies related to efforts to implement the independent curriculum, MilleaLab and the Directorate General of GTK (Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan) of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia initiated a digital literacy program. In this regard, educators play a vital role in introducing learning support technology to students. The collaboration program between the two parties that contribute to the world of education also directly targets three different regions for implementing its activities, including the West, Central and East regions.
Currently, MilleaLab and GTK Kemdikbud have successfully conducted two webinars for the Digital Literacy Competency Improvement Program in the West region. This will lead to the following webinars on Friday, February 16, 2024 and Friday, February 23, 2024. Interestingly, the next opportunity comes for educators wanting to participate in the Central Region's MilleaLab and GTK Kemdikbud Digital Literacy Competency Improvement Program. "For the Central Region, the provinces include Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara. Surprisingly, regarding the national digital literacy and numeracy index, these four provinces are the lowest 5," said Andre Wirautomo, Business Development MilleaLab.
In addition, Mashitha Trisha Hellena, Community Development MilleaLab, also said, "Unfortunately, educators outside the target provinces of the Central Region Digital Literacy Program cannot participate in this opportunity. Educators who have not had the opportunity to participate in the webinar can follow it in other MilleaLab webinars." "MilleaLab and GTK Kemdikbud together hold the principles of fairness and equality. So, the distribution of provincial targets has been determined. Those outside the target provinces of the Central Region have not been able to participate," continued Andre Wirautomo. However, the goal of the MilleaLab x GTK Kemdikbud Digital Literacy Competency Improvement Program always comes first.
"Broadly speaking, the program in the three regions is the same because we are targeting provinces that have digital literacy levels below the national average so that, at least, the standard is in line with national digital literacy," said Andre Wirautomo. As with the division of specific regions by GTK Kemdikbud and MilleaLab directly selected the 3T (Terdepan, Terluar, Tertinggal) areas, Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara became the target areas for the Central Region. Happily, educators in the Central region can already register for this activity from January 23, 2024 to February 27, 2024.
In addition to registering, educators who want to participate must carry out a pre-test. 4 webinars will be held for the MilleaLab and GTK Kemdikbud Digital Literacy Competency Improvement Program in the Central Region: Webinar 1 (Thursday, February 29, 2024), Webinar 2 (Friday, March 1, 2024), Webinar 3 (Friday, March 15, 2024), and Webinar 4 (Friday, March 22, 2024). Educators can also access MilleaLab's Instagram for more information about this activity. "Apart from hoping to increase digital literacy, one of MilleaLab's main missions is to introduce immersive technology learning media, especially using VR technology. Because from yesterday's grand launching activity, educators' enthusiasm was very high, especially those in Eastern and Central Indonesia,'' concluded Andre Wirautomo.
